Accelerated Reader

reading books

The more that you read, the more things you will know.
The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go. - Dr. Seuss

What is Accelerated Reader (AR)?
AR is a computer program designed to help teachers and librarians manage and monitor student’s independent reading practice. Students pick a book at his/her own level and read it at their own pace. A short quiz is taken on the computer upon completion of the book. Passing the quiz indicates the student understood the content of what was read. AR quiz results allow feedback for students, teachers, and librarians to use in terms of setting goals and continuing a direct ongoing reading practice.
